"Nope," we were told, "it's our policy!" The wine tasting manager was less than accommodating, so we took our business across the street to Signor Winery and were treated outstandingly!! We spent at least $1000 dollars. We were informed, "Groups that are 6 people or less, do not need a reservation." We asked to be divided into 2 groups, there were maybe 5 other customers there, plenty of wait staff. We came to Becker's at noon today due to their "Grape Stomping" event and were refused wine tasting because we did not have a reservation. We rated it 8 out of 8 of the wineries we visited this trip. Overall it seemed overly structured and commercial. What we liked best was the grounds, the relaxed seating, and just having a good day talking with people. The prices at the vineyard are $7-12 higher than we can buy the same wines in town at retail. So if you have preferences maybe this is not the best wine club to join. You get what wines Becker wants to send you. Disappointed that the wine club shipments are not able to be customized. Overall the best add on was the free hot dogs. Unfortunately the pours were under average and while the stories of how each wine got its name was interesting, the actual wine knowlege could use some help. (Big plus here - there are a large number of wines to choose from). When we wanted to taste the wines we had to go up to the bar, give them a ticket and get the next wine in the list we had chosen. So we bought our wine tasting tickets, our complimentary tasting of Rose, and sat out on the porch overlooking the beautiful grounds. The lady greeting us was friendly, could not really explain the wine club, what we could expect from the tasting, nor which wines we could taste. From the reviews and the lengthy write ups our expectations were set high. We went there on July 4th after being blocked by the parade downtown.
